PSYCHIATRIC EXPERTISE
Experience and expertise
In over 30 years of practice Dr. Dupée has gained expertise in a range of psychiatric services and treatments.

Medication Management & Therapy
Dr. Dupée has treated thousands of patients of all ages with pscyhiatric medications. She has a conservative approach to medications and will only prescribe medications when indicated and after an intensive intial evaluation. She has extensive experience prescribing medications for all psychiatric or psychological issues and disorders.
Dr. Dupée has been trained in various modalities of therapy. Many patients, however, seek therapy through psychologists, MFTs, or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) for financial reasons. She collaborates closely with many therapists to manage patients taking medications or consulting. She often works with divorcing and divorced couples for coparenting therapy and consultation.
Dependency Court
Dr. Dupée has been a member of the Los Angeles Superior Court Dependency Court panel since 2003. She has conducted hundreds of evaluations for the Dependency Court of Los Angeles. Most evaluations are court-appointed or ‘730’ evaluations (the Evidence Code for expert appointments). She has been retained privately on behalf of parents and minors’ counsels and also by the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS). She has testified in Dependency Court in trials and hearings.
Dependency Court evaluations are specific to questions posed by the Court or relevant case-related issues. Dr. Dupée reviews all available DCFS reports and any other relevant records. She conducts face-to-face interviews with parents and or children or persons identified by the Court.
Record Review
Dr. Dupée reviews all records submitted in cases. As an Expert Witness or Consultant, a thorough and extensive record review is required for any case, no matter how big or small the case. Records assist the forensic psychiatrist in being informed about the evaluee. Medical records contain medical language, including abbreviations, acronyms, and medical lingo, often Latin-based. Psychologists often do not have the expertise or qualifications to review medical records even though they understand them.
Depositions, complaints, correctional setting records, school and employment records, trial or hearing transcripts, pleadings, and interrogatories provide a wealth of detail about a case. Record review is done through the lens of a medical detective.
Criminal Law
Dr. Dupée has been a member of the Los Angeles Superior Criminal Court Expert Psychiatry and Psychology Panel since 2003. She has completed hundreds of evaluations for criminal cases including capital cases. She has testified in State and Federal criminal cases in various states.
Child Custody Evaluations
Dr. Dupee has conducted over 1000 child custody evaluations for the past 22 years. She is the only psychiatrist (MD) on the Los Angeles Superior Court approved child custody evaluator panel. She has worked with 100s of family lawyers in California. Los Angeles County has arguably the most sophisticated family law community in the US. The Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest court system in the US. She has been the Court’s expert on hundreds of child custody cases. She has vast experience in complex child custody issues such as domestic violence, substance abuse, child development, parent-child relational problems, LGBTQ issues, three-parent cases, and relocation. She has testified in hundreds of family law cases in various states. She conducts a range of evaluations, including comprehensive Child Custody Evaluations, Brief Focused Evaluations, Parenting Plan Assessments (PPA), psychiatric evaluations of parents, Parenting Plan Coordinator (PPC), Child Interviews, and Adult Child Support Evaluations.
